The table is 1-piece spruce, from wider grain on the bass side to narrow grain on the treble side, and the 2-piece back, as well as ribs and neck, is maple. Like always the instrument has been completely checked by our luthier and our violin player on playability. In our workshop it received a new setup with newly fitted elder ebony pegs, tailpiece & chinrest, new bridge, new soundpost and new strings. These are new German silver wound steel core strings with good projection, easy to play while allowing rapid performance. We use these strings on mostly all of our violins to provide a comparison of the tonal qualities of each instrument in the videos. In any case a new owner should consider higher quality strings of own personal preference to enhance the full character of this violin! Good old quality violin in immediate playing condition!
