4" in length, 3" wide and 1.5 tall. The porcelain is hard paste and is set in a silver gilt frame. The lid snaps shut and works just fine. The entire box is decorated with hand painted scenes of a country manor and flowers.
The lid features three men - one appears to be the Lord of the manor (seated) enjoying a stein of beer or wine. He is well dressed and appears content. The other two men, one young and one older, appear to be serving the drink from a bag and having a discussion, perhaps as to the quality of the batch. The maker and his apprentice maybe? The bottom of the box has the painted mark of Frankenthal and the initials of Carl Theodor. The condition is good for it's age - with typical, age-related wear. The bottom of the box does have a chip where the porcelain appears yellowed.
We have not tried to clean the frame or porcelain in any way - it's in as-found condition. Please visit our store as we have a couple more we will be listing.
