A Superb Pair of Antique Solid Silver, Fiddle Pattern, Serving Spoons, by William Bateman, Assay Hallmarked, London 1818. Described as a table, soup or serving spoons, as that was there designation when they were made in the 17th.
Century, unlike our modern equivalents, which are different in size to the Georgian & Victorian times. They are in very good condition considering they are well over 200 years old. I have not cleaned them, just given a wipe over with a silver cloth. No damage to shape, no dinks/dents, some tarnishing which will polish with a good clean. They are monogrammed on the top of the stem, and lovely clear hallmarks. Fabulous collectable spoons, made by a renowned maker. Perfect as a gift for a collector or even a lovely wedding or christening present. The spoons are 8-1/2 22 cm in length, and the silver weight is: one spoon 70g the other 68g 138g in total. PLEASE SEE ALL PICS AS THEY DO FORM PART OF THE DESCRIPTION - HAPPY TO SUPPLY MORE IF REQUESTED.
