Fantastic Antique "Masters Violin" Trade Sign. Features a moulded violin (chalkware or something similar) in high relief. It is strung with twine.
All mounted on an early fiberboard of some type (common near the turn of the 19th century). Overall very good condition with some staining on the field. I lightly wipes some off and a better job could be done by the owner or a conservator. Also has some damage on the back to the upper left corner (see photo), this is not visible from the front.
Measures 24 inches wide and 18 inches tall. I believe the "Masters Violin" refers to a specific teaching method that came into practice around 1906. This is a very beautiful piece and the deep red draws the eye immediately.
