This is an antique 4/4 violin, fiddle. There are two labels visible inside the f hole.
It was made in France somewhere in the early 1900s. The violin has been restored and is structurally sound. There is an old repaired 3 hairline crack coming down from the left f hole. The repair is professionally done, completely stable, and have no effect on the beautiful sound of the violin. There are plenty of old scuffs and scratches, all touched up at some point in the past.
Other than these, the violin is in excellent ready to play condition. It will get even better with regular playing. Dimensions are: length 14 and 1/8" width 8 and 1/8".
