This beautiful violin shows a firmly repaired line on the lower right front, but no open cracks or open seams. The table is medium to fine grained spruce and the 1-piece back, as well as ribs and neck, is maple, fingerboard is ebony. Like always the instrument has been completely checked by our luthiers and our violin player on playability.

In our workshop it received new set up with newly fitted elder ebony pegs and ebony tailpiece, a new ebony chinrest, a newly fitted French bridge and new strings. These are new German silver wound steel core strings with good projection, easy to play while allowing rapid performance. We use these strings on mostly all of our violins to provide a comparison of the tonal qualities of each instrument in the videos. In any case a new owner should consider higher quality strings of own personal preference to enhance the full character of this violin! Interesting old French violin in immediate playing condition!
