The table is medium to fine grained spruce and the 2-piece back, as well as ribs and neck, is nicely flamed maple. Like always the violin has been checked by our luthier and by our violin player on playability. In our workshop the violin received a new setup with newly fitted pegs, ebony tailpiece & new ebony chinrest, a newly fitted bridge and new strings. These are new German silver wound steel core strings with good projection, easy to play while allowing rapid finger performance. We use these strings on mostly all of our violins to allow a comparison of the tonality of each instrument in the videos. In any case a new owner should consider higher quality strings of own personal preference to enhance the full tonal character of this violin! Good old violin in immediate playing condition!
