Italian Antique Vintage Cherub Woodcarved Plaster Violin Design Catholic Kitsch

  

Material: hand carved wood, plaster, hand painted, ready to hang! Style: Catholic, religious folk art. This hand carved and hand painted cherub was most likely originally acquired in Italy. Made circa the early 1990s.

It's quite large and does have a rope and wire tied around the base of the angel's wings so it's ready to hang. As you can see from the photos, there are a few chips in the paint and plaster. Check out the beautifully carved hair and wings. The facial features are wonderfully animated and masterfully painted. A great example of Catholic folk art! Let me know if you have any questions!
