Half-size violin labeled Copy of Antonius Stradivarius. This particular 1/2 size violin sounds as good as other 1/2 and 3/4 size French violins that we have in our collection. Also, the condition is unbelievable for a violin that is about 100 years old, especially if you consider that it was always handled by children(they might not have practiced too much lol)!

Although it was most likely made for a young player that really deserved to have a real violin in a fractional size, this is not a VSO. This instrument has sound quality as good as very good quality full-size violin and even the volume is not that much smaller. This violin is too small for my large hands to play, but you can get an idea of its sound quality from the video. It's a wonderful instrument for a little virtuoso who has a passion and drive for practicing and playing! We specialize in fractional size instruments. We do realize and recognize the need of quality instruments with professional setup and we understand how badly setup instrument can hold back a young player, crippling his education and development and often resulting in the dropping the interest altogether. Many people will tell you that you can get good-sounding violins only when you grow up to full-size, but I can tell you that this is a lie. There is a small number of well-made fractional size violins, violas, and cellos. They are hard to obtain and not cheap, but if you consider that you can trade them in for a full-size instrument they become free. All of our fractional size instruments are well set up for that purpose. If you are interested in coming to the Princeton, NJ area, you can try this instrument and many others. We also offer 100% credit towards a more expensive instrument at our store, if you wish to upgrade anytime in the future. All violins and other instruments, unless otherwise specified, have been professionally set up, with new strings, and are ready to be played. Please use headphones while viewing the video clip to hear the best sound. Most of my clients are professional musicians and advanced students so all my violins have excellent set up. You can take it out of box, tune it and they are ready to play.
