Please listen to the video/soundfile & scroll down to see all detailed XXL photos below as part of the description! It shows a firm repair on the upper left rib, but no open cracks or open seams.

The table is medium to fine grained spruce and the 1-piece back is nicely flamed maple. Like always the instrument has been completely checked by our luthiers and by our violin player on playability. In our workshop it received new setup with new ebony pegs, new ebony tailpiece, newly fitted elder chinrest, newly fitted bridge & soundpost and new strings.

These are new German silver wound steel core strings, which have a good projection and allow quick finger action. We use these strings on mostly all of our violins, to allow a comparison of the tonality of each instrument in the videos. We would recommend higher quality strings of your own personal preference to enhance the full character of this violin!

The warm, bright sound is well balanced and unfolds with good volume and clarity, typical for antique violins with good musical qualities. Noteworthy is the immediate response, suitable for ambitious musicians.
