Nicely carved scroll and accurately inlaid purfling. T his instrument shows no open cracks or open seams, but surely some marks in its old varnish. The table is medium to fine grained spruce and the 2-piece back - as well as ribs and neck - is nicely flamed maple.

Like always the instrument has been completely checked by our luthier and by our violin player on playability. In our workshop it received new set up with newly fitted dalbergia pegs, an elder ebony tailpiece & ebony chinrest, a new bridge, new soundpost and new strings. These are new German silver wound steel core strings with good projection, easy to play while allowing rapid finger performance. We use these strings on mostly all of our violins to provide a comparison of the tonal qualities of each instrument in the videos. In any case a new owner should consider higher quality strings of own personal preference to enhance the full character of this violin!

Good old Czech violin in immediate playing condition! Total 59,5 cm / 23.4", body 35,6 cm / 14", vibrating chord length 32,8 cm / 12.9, weight 521 gr / 18.38 oz.
