Beautiful old Czech violin labeled Frantisec Bocek 1927. In our opinion the label might not be authentic. Please listen to the video/soundfile & scroll down to see all detailed XXL photos below as part of the description!

Nicely carved scroll and accurately inlaid purfling. T his instrument shows no open cracks or open seams, and surely some marks in its old varnish.

The table is medium grained spruce and the 2-piece back -as well as ribs and neck - is maple. Like always the instrument has been completely checked by our luthier and by our violin player on playability. In our workshop it received new set up with new ebony pegs, an elder tailpiece & chinrest, a new bridge, new soundpost and new strings. These are new German silver wound steel core strings with good projection, easy to play while allowing rapid finger performance.

We use these strings on mostly all of our violins to provide a comparison of the tonal qualities of each instrument in the videos. In any case a new owner should consider higher quality strings of own personal preference to enhance the full character of this violin! Good old Czech violin in immediate playing condition!
