Beautiful antique master violin by Christian Friedrich Meisel 1833. Please listen to the video/soundfile & scroll down to see all detailed XXL photos below as part of the description! Nicely carved scroll and accurately inlaid purfling. In all parts original, this beautiful violin shows numerous repairs, but no open cracks or open seams. The table is medium to fine grained spruce and the 1-piece back, ribs and neck are maple.

Like always the instrument has been completely checked by our luthiers and our violin player on playability. It's mounted with elder ebony pegs, newly fitted elder ebony tailpiece & chinrest, a new bridge and new strings. These are new German silver wound steel core strings with good projection, easy to play while allowing rapid finger performance. We use these strings on mostly all of our violins to provide a comparison of the tonal qualities of each instrument in the videos. In any case a new owner should consider higher quality strings of own personal preference to enhance the full character of this violin!
