The table is medium to fine grained spruce and the back - as well as ribs and neck - is nicely flamed maple. Like always the instrument has been completely checked by our luthiers and by our violin player on playability.

It was repaired at the scroll in our workshop and received new setup with new ebony pegs, new ebony tailpiece, new ebony chinrest, a new bridge, new soundpost and new strings. These are new German silver wound steel core strings with good projection, easy to play while allowing rapid playing performance. We use these strings on mostly all of our violins to allow a comparison of the tonality of each instrument in the videos. In any case a new owner should consider higher quality strings of own personal preference to enhance the full tonal character of this violin! Fine old violin in immediate playing condition!
