Built after an Antonius Stradivarius model 1722, t his beautiful violin shows a former repair (the middle seam of the back has been reglued and patched with wooden cleats), but no open cracks or open seams. The table is extremely fine grained spruce and the back, as well as ribs and neck, is nicely flamed maple, fingerboard is ebony. Like always the instrument has been completely checked by our luthiers and our violin player on playability. In our workshop it received new set up with new ebony pegs, ebony tailpiece and chinrest, a new bridge and new strings. These are new German silver wound steel core strings with good projection, easy to play while allowing rapid performance.

We use these strings on mostly all of our violins to provide a comparison of the tonal qualities of each instrument in the videos. In any case a new owner should consider higher quality strings of own personal preference to enhance the full character of this violin! Interesting old German quality violin in immediate playing condition! Total 59,5 cm / 23.4", body 36 cm / 14.17", vibrating chord length 32,5 cm / 12.8, weight 498 gr / 17.6 oz.
