Nicely carved scroll and accurately inlaid purfling. This beautiful authentic violin shows no open cracks or open seams. The table is finely grained spruce and the back, as well as ribs and neck, is maple. Pegs, fingerboard, tailpiece and chinrest are ebony. Like always the instrument has been completely checked by our luthier and our violin player on playability.

It was repaired in our workshop (new fingerboard, soundpost-patches on front & back - see detailed photos) and it received new setup with new ebony pegs, new ebony chinest, a new bridge, new soundpost and new strings. Very good old German quality violin in immediate playing condition!

Mounted are new German silver wound steel core strings with good projection, easy to play while allowing rapid finger performance. We use these strings on mostly all of our violins to provide a comparison of the tonal qualities of each instrument in the videos. In any case a new owner should consider higher quality strings of own personal preference to enhance the full sound range of this violin!
