Columbus, Ohio, not sure how old it is, it is in excellent condition, I had it for about 30 and it has been properly stored for this time, I got it on trade, it has been well preserved, It was at some time played and the strings have been replaced with a new set of Super Sensitive RED LABEL medium gauge set, the bridge looks good the tail piece and fine tuners and chin rest are all in very good condition, has 4 ebony pegs also in very good condition, will make someone a very nice violin to play. Crafted in Columbus, Ohio by Jackson-Guldan Violin Co. This violin features unmatched quality that is usually only seen in modern times with violins that are exorbitantly priced.
The company was in operation from 1915 to 1971. Featuring a Spruce top, a 1-piece Flame Maple back, Flame Maple sides and a Flame Maple neck, this violin has a warm, rich tone that cuts through without coming off as shrill or shrieking. Upper bout 6 1/2 wide.
