A rare Victorian antique solid sterling silver sauce or gravy ladle. It is hallmarked for London 1849 with the makers marks being JW for John James Whiting. It has been beautifully made to what is termed the Fiddle Pattern and has been engraved with a crest of a Falcon, very similar to that of the Bowen-Colthurst family although their bird wears a bell. It is in super condition being free from dings splits and repairs. 7.25 inches (18.2cms) long by over 2.25 inches (6cms) wide and weighs 70 grams.
