I cannot find any information about it Because there's no name on the inside the only thing that says on the inside is "restored by CW Clark" in the 80s. So I took it up to our local violin shop, Blackerby; they let me know that it is almost certainly made in Oklahoma and was restored there, he thinks it's American maker probably like mid to late 1800s to early 1900s..
He described it as "grandma's Fiddle" he said it's not some super sought after violin, but it's very unique. He also let me know that the bridge is warped, (see pictures) and will need a new bridge. He said the actions seemed like it would be OK and it has good acoustics. He said it's super unique and he said ask a couple thousand bucks or best offer for it so that's what I'm doing..He says that the bridge will need to be fixed before it's fully playable. He said that you have to like shave it down to fit the contour of the body. He also said that the edges are real?
Like he said, sometimes they're fake they protect from getting bounced around. I don't know if that makes sense. I'm a guitar player. I don't know anything about violins lol I can repair guitar but violin forget about it. There is a piece of tape on the top of the fiddle which was written down a long time ago.I can't really read it but it says "shown by Johhny" and then I can't read the last part, i assume it's a last name.. And then "1999.50" I don't know how old that tape is..
Anyhow, please take a look at all the pictures. If you need any more pictures, message me and I can get you some more.Comes with a bow and a hard shell case, the case is pretty torn up if I had to guess the age of the violin by the case I would say easily 1800s, but I don't know if the case is original. But it was in there, so who knows. IF THERE IS ANY PROBLEM WITH YOUR ITEM WHEN RECEIVED, PLEASE CONTACT ME, IM FRIENDLY AND WILL BE HAPPY TO FIX ANY PROBLEM.
