Vintage Violin Bow Round Shaft w/ Frog Unmarked. Would make a great gift or keep for yourself! We acquired a number of violin bows from the sale of the inventory of a long ago closed luthier shop. There were about 125 bows in that case. Every time we pick a few more out to offer you, there ends up being another nice gem in there. We will be offering these violin and cello bows to our clients over the next few months. We typically have about 3-4 dozen different violin bows from many makers and of varying value for sale at any time. So check out our online store to see the other bows. The bow shaft is made of wood. Has a reddish brown stained shaft that is rounded. No maker markings on the violin bow shaft. The bow is marked Germany under the frog. Minor loss of the finish along the shaft. Nice looking frog on it. No cracks, splits or missing pieces to the ebony, mother of pearl or other materials. Solid ebony on the back of the frog.

The bow has no cracks, splits or repairs to the wood that we can see to report to you. Strong flex to the shaft and we ascertain no warping, splits or repairs to report to you. The bow has no leather or metal winding on the shaft. Beautiful tip on this violin bow as well.

There is no horse hair on the bow and the bow will need to be rehaired. The mother of pearl inlays are in place on the sides of the frog and along the bottom as well as the end of the adjusting screw.

Has a nice silver colored adjusting screw with silver end. The violin bow is 28-7/8 long. The bow weighs 2.0 ounces with no horse hair on it. Let us know if you have any questions or need additional pictures.
